Mohawk Mountain: Late Start, Hot Laps, No Biggie

The Brownski household has gotten off to a sort of a slow start this ski season. Junior is leading the pack since he’s been working as a liftie again and made it to Plattekill twice. Dangerboy only has two days. I’ve gotten in a day at Greek, three at Plattekill, and now one at Mohawk Mountain in Connecticut.

It’s not just lack of dedication. The industry I work in is very busy during the months of November and December. It’s always challenging for me to find the time for early season skiing. Junior was working on Monday so it was just me and Dangerboy, my 16 year old son.

Indy Pass adds Peek’n Peak

PORTLAND, Ore. (November 29, 2022) – The Indy Pass has added Peek’n Peak Resort in Western New York, Tussey Mountain in Pennsylvania, Catamount Outdoor Family Center in Vermont, and Rangeley Lakes Trail Center in Maine. All of these new resorts will offer unrestricted access for Indy Base Pass holders.

“The Northeast is by far our best region for pass sales, and we are stoked to add these four new resorts,” said Indy Pass founder Doug Fish. “Peek’n Peak will complement our other Western New York resorts, and Tussey Mountain is a great fit with our growing presence in Pennsylvania.

Indy Pass adds Dry Hill

In September of this year, after 40 years as owners, Timothy and Deborah McAtee sold Dry Hill Ski Area to Boo Wells-Jareo and Patrick Jareo. The hill had been on the market for a few years. Initially undisclosed, the sale price was later reported inaccurately.

The couple has publicly promised to continue to operate the property as a ski area. They intend to make limited changes to operations in this first year, while learning everything they can, from the McAtees. “I have been asked to assist with the transition, and I am more than happy to be able to do that,” Mr. McAtee said.
