Where is the Tug Hill plateau?

Tug Hill is an upland region in upstate New York, East and downwind of Lake Ontario, north of Oneida Lake, and west of the Adirondacks. The Tug is separated from the Adirondacks by the Black River Valley.

Spanning 1.2 million acres, with elevations as high as 2,000 feet, the Tug Hill Plateau is famous for lake effect snow, averaging 200 inches across the region each year. Tug Hill offers two lift-serviced ski areas, Snow Ridge Ski Resort and Dry Hill Ski Area. Tug Hill skiing is known for deep and record snowfalls.
