Cazenovia: Hitting the Club

There’s nothing better than hitting the club on New Years Eve. The club I favor has an old Hall T-Bar and this year featured 16 inches of new lake effect snow. When Evan, Tiff and I pulled into the lot and looked up the hill, we knew it was going to be all-time. Untouched snow as far as we could see.

We geared up and headed to the new lift ticket window in the Wax Hut. I saw friend and member Jeff getting the outdoor fire going. He came over and chatted while we redeemed our Indy Passes. It sounds like the pass has been successful at Caz, allowing the members to share their little slice of heaven. There were more than a few Indy Pass redemptions that day as word spread locally about the snow totals.

A Prescription for Cazenovia

Some skiers and riders dream of a private ski resort. Others buy a mega-pass, take a shuttle from the paid parking lot to the lodge, and wait in line to ski crowded terrain. But take heart if you’re reading this blog, there may be hope.

I fortify myself with a steady dose of independent New York ski areas. For those who have gone over the edge, a shock to the system may be needed for a full reset. If you have mega pass fever, only a hidden gem will save you. I prescribe some Cazenovia Ski Club.

I don’t have mega pass, but since I first rode Cazenovia two years ago, and I’ve been dying to get back.

Indy Pass: 30 More Resorts, 3 More in NY

GRANBY, COLORADO—Indy Pass announced today that Loveland Resort in Colorado is among 52 resorts added to the Indy Pass since the end of last season including 11 in Japan, five in Europe, and three in Quebec, Canada.

Thirty of those resorts were announced at a media event in NYC last night. Marquis areas include Loveland Ski Area in Colorado; 12 resorts in Innsbruck, Austria; Bear Valley, California; and Massif du Sud in Quebec. Three ski clubs from New York are also on the list.

With the capacity these new resorts add, Indy Pass will release a limited quantity of passes for sale today while supplies last. This will be the final sale of the 24/25 season.
