Winter Events by County
“The highest number of severe winter storm for the period were in Western, Central and Northern NY. On average 290-370 events were reported in the following counties: Chautauqua, Erie, Oswego, Oneida, Lewis, St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton and Essex.
The lowest number of events was along the coast in Suffolk, Nassau, Bronx, Queens, Kings, Richmond, Rockland and Westchester Counties with 60-89 events.”
Winter Disaster Declarations by County
“The map shows presidential declared disaster totals by county for winter events for the period of 1954 through July 2013. Monroe and Genesee Counties have the highest number of winter declarations.”
