Season Synopsis 25/26
After a wet spring (May, June) and a dry summer, rain started to fall in October, mixed with snow in early November.
**Preseason: 5 snowfalls produced about eight inches of snow at NYSkiBlog HQ, about 4 miles from the Gore summit.
November: Opening Day at Gore was 11/21, 4 trails, everything wall-to-wall, best showing in a decade or more. November on the whole was cold, with one small rainfall event (1/4″) and more than a foot of natural snow.
December started strong, with consistent cold for snowmaking and multiple snow events. Several single inches of snow fell at NYSB HQ that was not reported by the mountain.
The second rainfall event (1″) of the season, the first in December, began late on 12/18 and ended in the afternoon of 12/19. The forecast remains seasonably cold, not the below average temps we’ve seen over the last 30 days.
