My son, the pilot, was home from college and wanted to get some flying time in. It was early January 2019 and it was a sunny and clear winter day which made for good flying weather. In a Piper Cherokee 140, we flew from Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome NY over Old Forge, Big Moose Lake, and my favorite place to ski, McCauley Mountain.
