Cousin told me he wind surfed in Tampa Bay during a hurricane once, allegedly.
I did the same, the park police were not even letting people into the marina when I went out during hurricane Isabel, the launch spot we called “Midevil beach “ because of all the damn hazards in the water, I would warm up in the parking lot with a sail on a skateboard

Tried that many times in Aruba..its pretty hard..got sucked out to sea once..they had to come and get me before the sharks did.
Damn! Their was a launch spot near an airport, we used to joke about what the hell would happen if one of us had to beach at the airport

135 hp...maybe more with the new exhaust.

We were talking about the rt108 thru the notch in the spring weather thread. You ever rip thru there? I never had a bike, thank God, when I lived up there or I'm certain I'd be splattered somewhere in there. Back in the late 80's thee was always a group (Canadian, eh) that would come down and do outlaw time trials thru the notch. One year one of them got killed. It was wild shit. You could smell brake pads burning all the way to Lyndonville.

I grew up in Long Island..got into bikes at 18..1967 yamaha ys250 2 stroke street bike...then it all went to hell..started bringing them home all over the place. H2 750 2 stroke kawi..widow maker..rd 350 grand prix bike..death machine..
79 cb 750 ss..cool bike..and then the Yamaha RZ350..the one I wish I kept..82 hp 290 lbs...worth a ton today.
This bike is another lightyear ahead.
If I move to VT..which may happen..then I may get back to street riding.

I bought my first motor cycle while at Ole Miss living out of town in the country. Had the piece of shit truck and with high gas prices in the early 80s, bought a bike & paid $50 for a 2 stroke twin carb Yamaha 125. Dude I bought it from said he traded his dog for it. Found out some yahoo had put a lawn mower spark plug in it and burned a hole in the piston coming back from the lake one day. Made it home with the one cylinder. Fixed it over the winter. Thing was quick and nimble and went as fast as I needed to go,
