Two strokes have less moving parts than 4 strokes.
Seat on the thing was baked out and cracked by the sun so fixed it with a tanned a beaver hide ya rolled on and strapped down with bungee cords.
That wasn’t much mechanical, just Indian-ing it.

less moving parts but when you start suping them up they become a different animal. More frequent rebuilds. A Honda 4 stroke motor last forever..and RD350 2 stroke with pipes, carbs and porting..not so much. At the track the few 2 stroke guys are constantly rejetting the carbs as weather conditions change. When you buy a used 2 stroke race bike it usually comes with a ton of parts..

Mine saw backroads, dirt roads and some highway miles. Being just 125cc it was only fun transportation on hot nice summer days in the hills around Oxford. No need for AC or a fan just go for a ride and get some wind going.

I've been stalking the 2 stroke sites..The RZ350 is the one to restore..lot of work. Mine was pretty much new and all suped up already..still had to rebuild the top end though. Prices keep going up. Maybe when I retire I'll build something. For now the convertible will have to do.

Tried that many times in Aruba..its pretty hard..got sucked out to sea once..they had to come and get me before the sharks did.
i actually became quite proficent at it, I can jibe and waterstart etc..I windsurfed in Aruba. What a place, fisherman huts rocks..

I started to be able..to not fall off the thing but could never really get going fast..at least in Aruba the wind is always moving the same direction. How people do it in oceans in storms is beyond me. I skied with a guy who did it...the videos were nuts.

Anyone ever hike the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim? I have a 2 day (one night) permit pending and need to commit in the next few days. Just wondering exactly what I'd be getting myself (and son) into...

Do it.

it’s awesome. North to south?

it’s a big hike. Get extremely hydrated. Three days with a night at cottonwood campground is probably better for some folks and a little more relaxed. There’s a waterfall off the north side that’s on the map, I forget what it’s called but you gotta go there. It’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. There’s adult beverages at Phantom ranch and the creek is perfect for sitting in to cool off.

yeah N->S, right now the permit is good for a night at Indian Gardens which seems pretty ambitious. Timing would be early October
