Hunter didn't open today.

Meanwhile back on topic....I hear Hunter closed solely due to a patrol walk-out and not Covid related.

How much confidence do you have in your source? What was the issue? Covid policy or something labor related?

What I've heard, I would consider the source reliable, but I have no way to confirm it:

This year Vail took family skiing away from volunteer patrol, and paid patrol lost overtime.

Then paid patrol was asked to work weekends for free to cover for volunteer job action.

Together they said enough was enough, and called out.

This is pretty much what I heard. Like Harv, I believe my source(s) are reliable. Also, Vail took away other things...lifetime passes after 15 years of patrol service. A friend's son, who is a certified EMT and patroled at Hunter for a good number of years, was looking for a new gig over late summer/early fall. They apparently heard rumblings. The Evil Empire Strikes Again. (Was that a movie?).

So in essence the chickens came home to roost.

Fail screwed patrol and thus their customers in the end. Brilliant!

It all seems somewhat predictable.
