Have you ever had your gear stolen?

Care to share what you use?
I'm going to make a plug for the lock I use as its the least I can do. The rep from the company gave me one for free at my time working in ski shops. https://usa.skikey.com/. You know those nice looking aluminum racks at EVERY mountain with the little pin thing that no one seems to know how to use? Yeah they are literally the best ski lock system out and as mentioned by others, the thing never leaves the pocket of my bibs.

You have to wonder why Ski Key never did a better job of promoting its product for use on those racks.
It's a disconnect on the consumer side and partly a shitty job marketing on their end. Each rack is supposed to have an infographic sign at the top that explains how to use them and that the locks are available inside at the mountain shop. In my experience the signs falls off the racks in many cases. At the end of the day locking your shit is such an afterthought when there is cold beer to be had.

Yeah those things are taking up valuable space where you could put a ski rack.

Who fucking steals skis. It's like stealing someones shoes.

800.00 dollar shoes...or more.
My wife sold all her old skis in a week after I bought her a new pair.

I've called Gore a couple times and still no sign of my skis.

I just think it was random bad luck.

Either it was a mixup - they grabbed my grey/red nordica enforcer 93s 177 and left behind their Blizzard Brahma grey/red 172 88 underfoot because they thought oh' there's my grey/red skis and just threw them in their car and left and still don't realize or don't care enough to bring them back to Gore. Or, thought they would be a nice upgrade for them (assuming they could click into my skis), or thought they could get some good money on ebay for them.

Lesson for me is that i'll need to start locking up my skis - "fool me once shame on you, shame me twice shame on me."

I keep telling myself people have lost a lot more this past year, skis are replaceable.

And yeah, skis are replaceable so even though it hurts the pocket, I'll be on some new skis next year ?

That’s why I got the nuke green bindings (choice of black, green & red) so I can see them from a distance and less a chance for someone taking them “accidentally“

In a specific size and spec.

I guess you can reset or redrill the bindings.

My Gore ski story, I had a brand new pair of Atomics... the binding came off the ski and took a nice long ride down Wild Air. I booted it all the way down and couldn't find them.

The venerable @tBatt found it in the netting by the park and turned it in to lost and found.

Gore lost and found has a WRITTEN policy that they keep lost and found for 7 days then pitch.

Told my story in the forum and tBatt piped up saying he'd turned them in. I went to lost and found and they had pitched them in less than 24 hours. WTF?

"They were broken and not worth anything."

Except they were worth $600 to me because the shop that mounted them would not replace them without the old ski.
