Have you ever had your gear stolen?

Someone took my poles, by mistake I'm sure, at the Yellowstone Club of all places. Never lost anything anywhere else in 40+ years of skiing but I do split my skis if I'm getting bad vibes.

Funny this question being posted in the New York ski forum. I had my cherished Collins Prismatic (blue) ski poles stolen from the racks at Whiteface on a college spring break ski road trip back in the early 80’s. Being a trusting and naive 22 year old Canuck I hadn’t ever given much thought about my gear getting ripped off..
I separated my skis and poles onto different racks from then on... a year or so later I started Telemarking full time, so that pretty much eliminated any worries about theft... ?
