Glorious day today skipping work. That is all that needs to be said.

Rumor was delicious today as the timer dinged on the creamed corn around 10:45 today, and Patroller Annie D was ready to drop the rope!

Thank you to Scotty on his first grooms of Rumor with with the winch cat Mon and Tues, well done Young Jedi!!

Reports from others are accurate - it was a great day today at Gore. Definitely my best day of the season outside of Utah. It was the most runs, and most vertical for any day for me in at least a few years. I rode the gondola only twice, but every other open lift at least three times (except Sunway, which I did just once to end my day).

Most of my days at Gore in recent years have been late season (like today) but unlike those other times, the vast majority of Gore's terrain was open and very nice today. I'd barely skied any Gore glades before today and was very happy to correct that. I made my first ever runs through Barkeater, new (to me) parts of Straight Brook, two ways down through Dark Side, as well as Macintyre and Otter Slide glades. All were a lot of fun, with the snow easy to turn in but not too heavy and only a few, easily-avoided, thin spots. Being my first time at Gore this season, it was also my first chance to ski Backwoods, which I did early in the day and enjoyed a lot. So many things were really good, but I'd go with Dark Side as my favorite on the day. I can now understand why "Betty Loved This Trail" after seeing that sign so many times.

For years I saw that Eagles Nest sign and thought the trail to the left there was a Gore ski trail, but it always had a rope up. Then I thought it might be the legendary “trail to Beck’s“ - turns out that is the Schaefer Trail on the Ski Bowl side of the Roaring Brook bridge.
It's named after these folks. Click "Schaefer Family History”.

For those of you that did not have the opportunity to be here today... my condolences...:ROFLMAO:

3” reported but more like 4-6" up top and more where the wind whipped, and all on top of an incredible deep and stable base (which didn't have the opportunity to freeze last night because the snow came on so fast and furious
