Gore Mountain Conditions

I enjoyed closing day at Gore today, about 11-2:30 with a long lunch break. My daughter and I skied a good chunk of what was open. We stayed on the gondola and North Chair for a few runs before lunch, worked over to High Peaks and Straightbrook after. My skis were very grabby at times in the fresh snow that had fallen this weekend, so the skiing was pretty challenging. It was definitely best on steeps where it had been skied in. Chatiemac was my best run of the day. On our last run down from the top of Bear, Fairview was really nice, the saddle area was getting close to unskiable but I guess it was kind of fun skiing in some raging rapids, and Showcase was a mixed bag but a good end to the day, leading up to quite a lengthy pond skim coming into the base. I'm glad we went. If my season's over after 40 days on snow with a lot of those being really nice days, I won't complain. Still hoping to head north for a day or two more in the next couple weeks but the calendar is filling up with other commitments.
