Bud break is happening earlier every year too. Managing the vineyards and orchards is a real challenge. Recently, I’ve had a sap run and made sugar in January.
60 mins just ran a piece on climate and winemaking.. England might be the wine capital of europe now..
maybe NY will be the new Napa Valley.. hopefully with out all the cali bullshit

I think I read in a history book that England used to have thriving vineyards. I can't remember if it was pre Roman, during the Roman Empire or in medieval times. And of course, don't forget that Leif Ericson called coastal Canada Vinland based on all the wild grapes growing there when he visited.
 
This winter was pretty bad, until this storm.....only takes a few or one:

Those numbers are low, we had more at our place.



The season was great for 8 weeks after that storm.
 
back to the weather..ya all gonna need to drink a lot of wine for this one..
if you take the 12z gfs verbatim.. not 1 but 2 moderate snow events for costal NC and SC...Here the same old crap..Rain/Cold/Warm/Rain/Cold rinse and repeat... maybe some arctic air for good measure too
