Stratton Conditions

I got to Stratton at 2pm. The mountain was empty. The trails were scraped clean like a salted GS race course. I still had a great 2 hours. ;)

Magic in the distance

Now just waiting for the snow to arrive.

After 5 awesome days at Sugarbush, we were back at Stratton. We lucked into about 3"-5" of new snow with intermittent snow all morning. Conditions were excellent including various glades. The moguls were outstanding on the Supertrail and Liftline.

This was my 9th day in a row. :)

At 9:21am, Wed, 3-15-23
Stratton storm total is currently 40" and it is still snowing pretty hard on the the cams with the top of the mountain cam looking like a full on blizzard still. No gondola due to wind. I wish I was there.

Another day and another shit show at Stratton.

Multiple lifts down? Check.

Summit delayed until around 10? Check

Only one open trail at the summit? Check

Massive lift lines at the open lifts? Check

Lodges already packed to the gills at 11 with a huge line at the cafeteria? Check

Not surprised, not impressed.

Things did soften up, so the conditions got better, but many trails remained closed all day, leading to the open ones being intensely crowded.

If you knew where to look, there were some decent spring bumps to be skied.

Basically, the morning was a shit show, but if you stuck around (and I did), you had better skiing in the afternoon.

There were weather issues due to the drop in temps early morning. The upper mountain was a sheet of frozeness.

You should know better
