Ski Bowl 3.0 at Gore

Gore is the only ski area that has racing on a major connecting trail
As I mentioned this really isn't a "choice" unless you want them to choose no racing.

I'd love to know what the NYSEF fee is, and also if the money is the true motivation. Not sure how you would find out, unless maybe you buy Bone a beer some time.

In other news, we enjoyed a nice ride on the North quad on the way back from Burnt Ridge which was still crispy in the morning. After a long break at the Saddle things softened up nicely. It turned out to be on of the best afternoons of the season.

I have never, ever said they should have no racing. Never. I just think they should add proper connector trails between mountain areas. If NYSEF pays them so much, then there's the budget for adding the new trails and the required snowmaking.

In other news, the race netting has been taken down from Echo. Good riddance.

I never said you said it man. That trail will happen I'm sure and eventually it will get snowmaking. Really your issue is that it's not happening fast enough, and you don't like what they are spending money on now.

Let's say your project above would cost $10M (I am making that up, I have no idea, would appreciate at guess). What CAPEX (not WUG) spending projects done in the last ten years, would you have passed up?

No other ski resort has their race trails as the only ones that connect two mountain areas.
The issue isn't getting to BR, it's getting back from it without it being a 40 minute journey on the awfully slow North Chair to nowhere.
Now you’re just making stuff up. Hedges>North quad>Wood In is the fastest easiest route to the summit, especially when there are lines at the base.

Of course I enjoy skiing. My goal is to ski the best terrain in the most efficient way possible, and that means avoiding lift lines, and slow as shit lifts that stop all the time like the North Quad.

And an update on today, despite the race nets being removed, and the snow report not mentioning any racing, the "Echo Closed For Racing" sign is up at Cedars. You can always count on getting Gored.

Having to use Cedars, Pipeline, or Hedges to North Quad going the other way is a dictionary definition of ‘first world problem’.

No one swears louder than me when I’m headed back to the bowl at 245 and Twisters Little Sister is still closed and I have to bomb at the bottom to Cedars, shaking my fist at the NYSEF cabin as i go by and i continue to swear as i skate cedars.

Then i get to the BR chair, where there is no line, i sit back on a nice high speed chair, and im happy.

And having to use Hedges to North Chair going the other way does not add 40 minutes. Maybe 15 minutes?

Anyway, we are all lucky people. And this year feels like the bowl has been connected for more weeks than most - im glad to see Hudson chair running today even if im stuck downstate.

Maybe I missed it earlier in this thread but are they scheduled to actually break ground this spring/summer for any of the ski bowl projects mentioned? If so which ones? Reading this and other posts Gore (or is it ORDA?) seems to have a history of projects approved but never even started.

Ya should know Sno, ya gotta go to know.

ORDA’s board just approved re-upping (3 year) on their internal realtime data analytics software thingys
