Ski Bowl 3.0 at Gore

I don't think there's a need to replace the lift. It just needs better operations and some minor changes. Not slowing it down every time a kid gets on or off would be a good start (this is a problem on other lifts at Gore too). The unload is problematic because it is steep. Filling in the bottom of the ramp to make it shorter and more gradual would help. A loading carpet would also help.

Cut my teeth on jiminy peaks exhibition chair. Maybe 5 or 6 years old at the time. Scary fast center pole riblet... No help from the lifties... We all learned quick.

If it was gradual ya wouldn’t need a dang carpet.

I say go to a $2000 seasons pass and replace all the lifts with high speed quads. But still, run the North Side lift at 400 ft/min just to piss people off. And keep the senior pass (above 64 years old) at $100.

And free beer for seniors, too.

I only made it to Gore once this year (so far?). It was 2:40ish Sunday afternoon, I was skiing in the Bowl and I promised my wife I'd be home by 7. Echo was closed for racing still, at 2:40 in the afternoon. I knew that if I did the full journey of Hudson Chair -> BR Quad -> North Quad I'd never make it in time.

So screw it, I ducked the rope on Echo and went Mach 3 past the few people still racing on skier's right. Some coach gave me a dirty look but fuck em', it's 2:45 on a Sunday, people need to get where they are going and you've jammed your racing into everyone's life. I'm not saying that Echo should be fair game after 2:30 PM, but I'm not NOT saying it.
This is the dumbest thing I have read on the internet so far in 2023. Skiing into a closed course is selfish, stupid and dangerous.
