I know it seems to fit into a cancel narrative, but as someone that stays somewhat connected to the hill, I’m here to say there was no evidence of mounting outrage from an offended group where the hill succumbed to pressure.
It’s ok for a business to look in the mirror and proactively make changes, potentially unpopular, based on who they are and what they want to represent. Whether it’s a name change, putting in a terrain park or flattening expert terrain.
If a significant number of locals and regulars aren’t bothered by the name change, it shouldn’t for others.
