There doesn’t need to be people directly applying pressure. It’s a trend now and the sensitive people are making these decisions. I see it at my work all the time. It’s a generational thing.I know it seems to fit into a cancel narrative, but as someone that stays somewhat connected to the hill, I’m here to say there was no evidence of mounting outrage from an offended group where the hill succumbed to pressure.
It’s ok for a business to look in the mirror and proactively make changes, potentially unpopular, based on who they are and what they want to represent. Whether it’s a name change, putting in a terrain park or flattening expert terrain.
If a significant number of locals and regulars aren’t bothered by the name change, it shouldn’t for others.
…All right, I’ve exceeded my two year post count in one day and dried up…”Be excellent to one another”
If you don’t understand what I’m saying I’m not sure how to better articulate it for you. Maybe it’s possible that you yourself are so entrenched in that culture you don’t see it that way? I don’t know but removing the word suicide and replacing it with a Native American name is definitely what I’m talking about.
