Protect The Adirondacks

Yes! There's no reason why ORDA could not have these at all 3 of the ski venues! (y)
With the cash saved if they can the zippy thingy 🍺ORDA could buy a bundle of ‘em for their worker bees. ~$50-60K per cabin.
Walk, bike and/or ski to work to boot.
There’s a bunch in Lake Luzerne at the music camp.

As one of the commenters in the article said, Whiteface has been altered for decades. I don't know when ORDA was awarded the downhill race. Seems to me, however, that they had plenty of time to file an amendment to Whiteface's UMP.

ORDA filed an amendment a year ago to build new mountain bike race trails at the Ho. APA approved it pretty quickly.

I'm as big a tree hugger as anyone, but Protect's press release sounds like a cry for attention.

Protect will stop at nothing to halt the economic growth of the ADK. They truly want it to be a playground for the wealthy. Common sense isn't something they are interested in.

Side note. Protect also advocates for alternative energy and vehicles, which is fine. Let's say the materials needed to produce solar panels, batteries, etc were available to be mined in the ADK. I wonder if they would be in favor of that? No way. Heck, they shut down Barton Mines in a second if they thought the could.

Awarded? ORDA paid Warners Bros hundred$ of grand$ to host it. The $how must go on...

Did ORDA have plenty of time to file a work plan? UMP’s take more time for approval.

APA ain’t the DEC.

Did the board mention the issue at their board meeting last Friday at the ski jump complex?

I don't think it's about the UMP. I think the ski areas are allowed to build facilities for skiing but their permission to build for other uses is less clear. That's why the Protect Adirondack objections get so much traction.

IT's another ORDA management failure that they spent so much to get the ski jumps ready for the WC then lost it it because they neglected the observation deck.
