The rumor around here is that Gore will be $105 EVERY DAY this season. The Woman Of My Dreams bought a frequent skier card for $104 and the first day is included.
I think they are overdoing it to keep the crowd down, and they’ll probably back down a little when no one shows up.

Be very interested to see. I'm imagining Gore at capacity on weekends, and busier than usual on weekdays.

I assume you mean busier than usual on weekdays. Expensive lift ticket plus busier than usual hopefully means the issues Gore has had in the past with midweek lift closures won’t be a factor? Has Gore been better about that more recently?

Midweek lift closures have not been a problem at all since I retired 7 years ago. What has been a problem midweek is the website listing trails (mainly glades) as open when the ropes stay up ALL DAY. I’m too old now to jump ropes, especially when I’m solo, only to find out there’s a reason why it’s closed.

I would wager they won’t be wanting ya bringing in water bottles to get the discount on Wednesdays this winter either. Why can’t we have nice things?

I won’t call this a screw up, per se.....maybe just a missed opportunity? Wasn’t the Whiteface Bear Den replacement (Falcon Quad) intended to be extended a little higher up the mountain, which also had some associated new trail work? Not like the extension shown in the 2018 Amendment to the UMP was all that much, but it would have been nice. Hard to get terribly excited for the direct replacement we got, but they did get it in quick.

Yes I was aware of the price change. There was quite the outcry in the Tri Lakes area. As I've written before, I can understand that prices would go up with all that investment. But an 80% increase in one shot is out of line.

Maybe they’ll fix this one too.
Why are their different pricings for next week when kids are off from school?

<rant>There’s a chance that this weekend's Lake Placid Loppet 25 and 50 km citizen's race might be canceled. Not because poor conditions, but because of the shite job ORDA has done marketing the race. There are 17, count ‘em, 17 people signed up.

The Loppet didn’t appear on Van Ho’s web site until the last couple of weeks. No email to past competitors, no social media presence. I thought there wasn’t gonna be a race, and found it by chance on skireg.com.

This race should be the f’n Birkie of the east. People clamoring to register.

ORDA's done a great job securing big time events. NCAA winter carnival, season-ending SuperTour, World Junior nordic combined championships, not to mention sliding events. How about throwing a bone to the local people who support this place.</rant>
