Hey, I get that $65 seems like a lot. I’ll never do it....but I probably wouldn’t do it either if it was $45, or $35.

I think the bobsled ride is also overpriced and I’ll probably never do it.

That said, has this coaster pricing earned a spot in “ORDA’s Latest Screwup”? Whether we like the price or not....if it generates enough traffic is it really a screw up?

People visiting Lake Placid want to pay money to do vaguely outdoor/Olympic themed shit. I bet they’ll make plenty of money with this thing. Fake versions of real outdoor pursuits are all the rage. I went to this place in North Carolina before a wedding and it was fine:

Skiing the Dark Side at Gore looks to be a 3 lift journey this year. This is the top tower unloading area yesterday. How long does the cement have to cure after it is poured?

This is what the new Dark Side Glade looks like

The Summit towers look nice in the Parking Lot Although there were 13 numbered pulley tops and only 6 towers in the lot.

Yes I was aware of the price change. There was quite the outcry in the Tri Lakes area. As I've written before, I can understand that prices would go up with all that investment. But an 80% increase in one shot is out of line.

If you ever got an 80% raise at work, raise your hand.

$95 rack rate for Belleayre tickets is equally insane and pushes a midweek frequent skier ticket to +/- $20 more than it was 5 years ago. Next year I will just go Vail and do my midweek skiing at Huntah.

The rumor around here is that Gore will be $105 EVERY DAY this season. The Woman Of My Dreams bought a frequent skier card for $104 and the first day is included.
I think they are overdoing it to keep the crowd down, and they’ll probably back down a little when no one shows up.
