ORDA's Biggest Mistakes

If you park there, then you will need to duck ropes to get back if you want to ski the whole day. The rope at Tahawus is literally right next to the patrol shack so good luck. All because they refuse to run the Hudson lift until 4 like they should.

Also it's a total crap shoot that they even open the lift on time. Just park at the main base.

If you are coming from the saddle, be on tahawus by 330. If coming from burnt ridge, be on backwoods also by 330. Last chair on the Hudson lift is at 330.

This isn't really a mistake, but I'm not putting it in the "ORDA Wins" thread and I'm not starting a new thread.

This piece is now 100% obsolete:

ORDA is no longer reporting on individual mountain skier visits or revenue. They did report that Belle is up significantly, and gave percents, so you could do something with that if you had last years numbers. But didn't give anything on WF or Gore. I can only assume that means those hills were not up.

The second image, revenue and expenses, ignores the elephant in the room. CAPEX.

Please correct me if I made a mistake. I am being sincere, I want to understand.

I worked for AT&T for 36 years and whenever they changed what they reported in earnings reports it was to hide something. Not saying that’s what ORDA is doing, but ….

There’s this from one of their board meetings.

Belle didn’t host WUG ’23. FTW.

I write this with the full knowledge that Gore is a state-run entity and today is a Thursday in November, but if your only way up the Mountain (The Gondola) consistently breaks down (for over an hour today) then you should have an alternative uphill option ready. ESPECIALLY, if you are selling day tickets.

Well my winter is likely over. With USCSA championships this week and Junior Nationals next week, <sarcasm>ORDA, in their infinite wisdom</sarcasm>, has closed Mt van Hoevenberg to recreational skiers. There are so few of us there this winter anyway. What, are we gonna wear out the snow?

I'm STEAMED.

Looks like ORDA made the news again...
