ORDA's Biggest Mistakes

Whiteface replaced gondola cars recently so slot width is no longer an issue! Belle’s is new so no issues there. I think Gore still has that problem?

Unless Whiteface replaced their gondola in the last couple of weeks, I beg to differ.

Hudson needs to close before the BRQ to allow you to get back to the base. Every ski area in Northern America operates the same way.

Wrong. The ski bowl is a base area. It's not like the Topridge lift where the only way out of an isolated area is to ride it. The ski bowl has parking, but is completely useless because you can't ski the whole day. I don't even consider parking there. I'd park there if the Hudson lift opened on-time and ran until 4. But it is almost always late and closes early. Killington has 5 base areas, and all of them have the same lift hours, so you can park at any of them and ski the whole day.

I can fit my twin tips in the gondola at Whiteface and Belleayre. They do not fit in the slots at Gore (or K1 at Killington, for that matter).

Nope. BRQ closes last to let everyone sort themselves out to their right spot. If you don’t like it don’t ski there.

Can you park at the ski bowl? Does it have a lodge? That makes it a base area. It's your responsibility to make sure you're at the same place you parked at the end of the day. Closing it early is complete bullshit and makes it 100% useless if you want to ski the entire day. I'd like to park there, but with the often late openings and early closings, it might as well not exist. I'm not sure why you think it should operate with such short hours given all your complaining about lifts not being open midweek

Contracted food service...I'm fine with it.
But where I scratch my head is having Centerplate/Sodexho run the seasonal lockers....how hard is it to collect the money 1x/year from folks that ski there and rent the same same locker year after year? Centerplate did for a couple of years anyway....they still do that? I didn't even notice who I paid the last 2 seasons....

Maybe ORDA let 'em run them as a tradeoff for something else?

Duuuuuuude. The return trip to your car is still skiable even if there's a rope up.
