Good morning,
The mountain and Londonderry area have no power and there is no estimate from the power company when it might return. Therefore we will NOT be open today for skiing. The storm continues to have sustained winds of 30mph with gusts of 50mph. The warm winds and rain have done significant damage to the mountain as well in terms of snowpack, fallen limbs and flooding so we will be working all day to patch her back together.
For those that purchased tickets for today online, our ticketing partner (
info@getskitickets.com) will be processing refunds.
The team is heading out on the mountain now to asses the damage.
As soon as the temps drop into mid 20s later today and hopefully power returns, the team will start up the snowmaking system where it is needed most to restore some weak areas. Looks like good snowmaking temps through Saturday and much of Sunday. The groomers will do their best as well as soon as temps drop and they can begin patching areas and grooming the snowmaking trails out for Saturday. We will get a little snow tomorrow as a clipper rolls through--maybe an inch or two. While not much, every little bit helps.
The Tavern is also closed until the power returns. If it does so by the afternoon, we will be open for dinner.
Thanks for you support and we look forward to opening for the weekend to provide skiing, riding, and good times, even if it is on more limited terrain.
As you know, our crew will do whatever it takes to get us all back on the mountain no matter what mother-nature throws at us!
Stay safe and see you soon.
