Consolation prize is one of the best snow on 3 runs at blue mt pa

Best Magic pow day in years! Opened the black chair before 8:30 (was scheduled for 9), so us early people got atleast 3 runs of nothing but 3 feet of perfect powder before everyone else showed up. They sold out around 10 and filled up A,B, and C lots. The lines for black got up to 10 minutes, as the only lift open some skiers weren't ready for the top and it showed. After they sold out they dug out red from its 3 week slumber and got going before noon. Lifts went to almost ski on for the rest of the day.

Big shout out to Geoff today, he was parking cars in B at 8am, running the lift line at black by 10, and digging out red by 11. He and the staff hit a home run today!

March 26: We will be open Friday-Sunday as scheduled, and we hope to see many of you back for Easter weekend and some Spring Fling activities! Thank you for being with us this past weekend–good times, and more to come as we hope to stay open until April 7th.

There goes my dream of skiing Magic the following weekend.

March 29th 6:45am: Welcome back! The Black Line Quad spins at 9am for a spring ski day under cloudy skies and temperatures rising from near freezing currently to the low/mid 40s. The warm/wet weather this week has taken a toll on the all-natural snowpack so the conditions will be variable and spring-like. There will be many patches of ground out there on the non-snowmaking trails, with obstacles underneath the snow on the more advanced terrain, so use caution. Kyle and Paul are out in the cats grooming some of the snowmaking trails now as the temperatures finally got to freezing early this morning which should help corn up the snow for the weekend. So early runs could be a little crisp before softening on the all-natural terrain. Patrol will be out this morning to give us a better sense of what steeps/expert terrain remain in play and we will then update the trail report later this morning from the current estimate of 39 trails and glades.

Saturday looks like a beautiful day for skiing as well as we remain open thru Easter Sunday. There’s more to come as we plan to stay open until April 6th/7th weekend with the possibility of another snow storm next week as well. Think snow and spring skiing! Discounted spring tickets are available online.

4/4 11:00am Update: 13-15″+ and still snowing! Patrol is dropping ropes throughout the day. Twilight Zone, Sorcerer, Lower Wizard, Potter, The Wardrobe, Hallows, Bailout already had ropes dropped. More coming!

6:15am: 7-10″ of snow has fallen and it’s still snowing prior to our 9am special powder opening with the Black Line Quad lift today! Patrol will be out around 8am and starting to see what we can open up, but we will start with about 30 trails–primarily East Side along with Upper Wizard to Talisman on the West Side. As it continues to snow, we should be able to open more terrain but lower angle will be the way to go until there’s enough snow to add some steeps as the day goes on possibly. The snow is relatively light and there was lots of bare ground to cover up so “rock skis” are recommended as there will still be thin cover. Wind continues this morning with temperatures in the upper 20s–some trails may be wind impacted. Kyle is out in the groomer and will do minimal grooming from the summit which should get covered up by fresh snow. Let it snow! We will update as we get closer to opening. There will be no carpet lift today so it is not a day for beginner level skiers and riders. Have fun!

As staffing is limited this time of year, food service will be out of the Black Line Tavern for both Thursday and Friday. Cafeteria should be open for the weekend. SINGO is scheduled for Friday night.
