However, SIXT says it still plans to electrify as much as 90% of its vehicles in Europe by the end of the decade.

SIXT says it will take delivery of Stellantis brands, including “Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Jeep, Lancia, Opel, Peugeot, Ram, Vauxhall and Maserati.” It will add “city cars to SUVs to vans and trucks (including 7- and 9-seaters)” into its rental fleet.

It is hard to understand buying an EV if you do not have a dedicated charging spot in a cold weather area like Chicago.

So, I don't know the points on EXTREME cold, but normal pretty cold (4 degrees) does not seem to be a problem. Also, perwarming / preconditioning is important to efficiency and taking a high speed charge.

The TDLR on this video, using precondition (which can now just be set to a time in the app), an R1s got about 90% of efficiency in 6 degrees in CO. When an R1t without the update did the same without preconditioning, it got like 50% efficiency.

Also, the video posted above notes that you should precondition before charging in the cold. Rivians do that automatically when they are navigating to a high speed charger. I am sure there is a point it is so cold that it may not matter, but 0 F is not it.

It seems blocked but click on 'Update' with this google search: youtube rivian dad cold weather
