Hunter news

If the signage isn't big and obvious, it's a revenue grab. Gardiner in the 'Gunks and Keen in the ADK have done a much more transparent job of managing parking.
It's obvious.. And it's been a long time coming. illegal parking is dangerous. I hope they all get towed.

So It's true..........Hunter is right now in the process of digging up the snowtubing park to make way for more parking space!
I also hear that the Mtn Top has become a ghost town? At least Hunter's side, Windham's fine.
It's called mud season.. :)
Restaurants are doing well. At least the few I go to.. A few changed hands and are almost reopened. Hotels are open ! Or reopening better than ever. We're filling some up for our wedding this August.

Did Hunter changed their minds about digging up the snowtubing park?? (rumor?)
I never saw anything to show they were doing that.
I've driven past a few times and there's no signs of construction.
I'm a watch what they do - not what people say person

They absolutely should tow them!! BTW do they have where to go to get your car on those signs? I read people didn't know where their car was at?

Not sure. I read signs.. :) In fact the signs are fine - the guy in the article is spouting BS. 25 people stranded together? Really? And who takes a diabetic kid on a big hike like that? Dude is a liar - trying to make us look bad because he can't take responsibility for himself. And all the cool skiers are jumping on to blast Hunter even more... F that. We are on the upswing!! Things are happening - we don't need entitled skiers trying to make things look bad when they are not - just because Hellgate gets crowded on a freaking holiday weekend and you looked bad skiing it.

I guess they missed this huge sign..

I agree with the towing - there's signs everywhere. People parking on the mountain road is dangerous. I know people that work on the rescue squad and they hate the parking issues. They've had to block the entire road with their rigs because people park on the horseshoe curve for a rescue. Cars stick out and block traffic - including emergency vehicles. People walking triple file.
It's not sustainable - F those people - read signs and STFU... I'm not taking responsibility for their stupidity.

AND Benny... You said "gene pool has been so depleted, the stupid and bitter are now in charge". - nice - way to say shit about my close friends in my town. I hope that felt good making fun of people like that... Hard working family people just trying to make their best attempt at living. Surrounded by entitled assholes from NY NJ and CT.. hmmmmm?
Why do you have to be like that? What drives you to be a dick?
I'm a dick? Dude, in the civilized world, like, you know, NYC, they put big signs up on the side of the road that day TOW AWAY ZONE. In other places, not only TOW AWAY ZONE, but, a phone number is there to contact the scavengers who towed away your car. I didn't see either mentioned here. Just little no parking signs that, again, in the civilized world, would only result in a ticket, not a tow WITH NO INFORMATION left at the scene. Bitter, money grabbing stupidity, not very well thought out. Because Hunter, from what I can tell, only has tourism to depend on, so, pretty damn stupid to treat future "clients" like that, because there's a hundred other places to go for a hike in a fifty mile radius.
Of course, ten to one, the mayor and council members probably get a piece of this scheme. Probably had a nice fourth paid for with this idiocy. Then they'll wonder why nobody is visiting next summer. Duh.

Turns out people are visiting - Sean does a great job up here in spite of people like you and crap journalism from the Times union. He's keeping us safe up here. Keeping the roads open so we can take our people down the mountain in ambulances without worrying about getting stuck because someone double parked or is blocking the road or got into an accident..

TAKE SOME GOD DAMN RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF!!!
Sorry this sign isn't big enough for you

Also imagine if one of those people that were so upset actually GOT hurt and had to call for help but there was no place for rescue workers to park? What about that?
This is about public safety - not sucking up to people who don't obey posted signs
