Gore Mountain Conditions

Great snow if you like variable spring. But not if you have folks who do not enjoy that.

Would be cool if Sunway chair was running but I get it there is like 1 trail over there.

Thankful they pulled off what they have. Chatty and Hawkeye were super fun yesterday ski by feel with more bare spots on chatty. No blue from top.

We talked about it. The two fams didn’t want to add the extra trip. How did WF fare these past few days?

WF? Have skied there 3X so far, most recently on Tuesday. Every time conditions were much, much better than Gore.
Even the v long Wilmington Trail was open with good coverage.

Wintertime is back in business.

The guns were blazing on all of High Peaks yesterday, probably will reopen for the weekenders.
I was disappointed in the “new snow.” Most of the mountain was firm corduroy. The warm weather and rain have left lots of bare spots to avoid. Huge areas down to the ice and gravel on Sunway from the Saddle to Showcase and the top of Chatty, which probably shouldn’t have been open, but once you trashed your skis getting to the good part it was the best snow on the mountain. Tahawus was equally good.
Ops is still in Cork’s “Groundhog Day “ cycle, reblowing what was already open instead of moving to new terrain.

Even when conditions were good this year the terrain has been too limited to say that skiing was good. I heard someone complaining yesterday at the saddle that Gore was worse the West mountain. It's like Gore is the red headed step child of ORDA.

Start posting this stuff on the Gore FB page, which usually reads like a rousing chorus of Kumbaya. When the paying customers get restless management needs to know. Last year the squeaky wheel at Whiteface got greased.
