With cold temps upcoming the worker bees should be able to cover the place for MLK. With the with the wind some might even make it into the trees.

If we get snow or they start making up for lost time. We get any warmup and are lacking either of those things you bet people will be bitching presidents week if there's a 40-50% open at Gore with questionable coverage in spots when Belle and WF are open on all their snowmaking trails. Belle is there already. WF is getting close and should be in the next couple weeks given how they've been doing this season.

Maybe mother nature will bail Gore out but it ain't looking like it in the long range as it looks just cold. They are going to have to make a lot of snow to bail themselves out of where they are. If they don't with this long stretch of cold weather that says everything.

Also I went to Stratton this weekend over Gore. Way longer drive, much more cost in hotel, etc even though I have both ORDA and IKON. It was great. I rode up the lift with multiple people who when I mentioned Gore was my home mountain immediately brought up the snowmaking this year and how little they have open unprovoked. Word is getting out and beyond non pass holders that would be visiting on day tickets.

The weather is the least of Gore’s problems. I skied today with someone who was told by a mountain host that, since Howie’s retirement , ORDA is attempting to to go with one snowmaking manager for all three ski areas, and also that there is a broken pump for pushing Hudson River water up the mountain.
I’m going to make a bold prediction that I’ve been considering for a while: the new Hudson chair will not carry a single paying customer this season, because, whether due to mismanagement , lack of snowmakers and/or lack of water, Gore will never get snow made on all the trails required to do it.
Whiteface was last year’s ORDA shitshow, Gore is this year’s.

Sad to see because Gore was starting to get some mainstream recognition. As a season pass holder that calls WF home, it is disappointing to see the same BS we were used to at WF. No real explanation why there was very little snowmaking while there were millions in improvements. There were also the expected rumors about what was wrong. It was very frustrating the last few years. We were told everything was fine but we all could see they weren't blowing snow. Nothing worse than being fed a line of BS when you can clearly see something isn't right.
