Gore Mountain Conditions

Not true, there is no limit on the draw from The Hudson.
Well at least that’s good news. One less impediment to snowmaking.

Though to be honest, it was easier to accept that the weather was to blame, rather than apparent poor management decision making.

The answer is yes. Generally they tend to be forums, not blogs. Like this one.

Alpine Zone, K Zone, etc, etc.

The people who return year after year often have ties ... social groups, race teams, real estate... that keep them coming back.

Why do you keep coming back?
I fell in love with the lack of crowds and diversity of terrain during covid so bought some real estate. I like to think of it more as curiosity as to why things occur the way they do rather than flat out complaining, but i do like to get a good complaint in from time to time :ROFLMAO:

Honestly I think Gore does a great job, just like how your own house always seems to have more imperfections than the others guys, you notice things more when you are there all the time.

The Summit skied much better today. Loose granular but very little ice. Better grooming. Topridge was a bit worse for wear but enjoyable. Pine knot was in good condition.

The main mountain was in decent condition, but most trails were skied off once you hit the lower third.

The North Side is holding up pretty well.

In terms of the crowds, I left at midday and cars were parked halfway down between lot G & H. Despite that, there were minimal lines and the slopes didn’t seem that crowded. Surprising.

** Snowmaking update: I spoke to someone who was under the impression that Gore has a much lower total allowance for water use this year compared to prior years. Perhaps secondary to the very dry Fall season? If that’s true, I guess management is saving some of their allocated water given the upcoming rain. Who knows?
I had the opposite take, but maybe because I avoid days like this that I know will be crowded like the plague.
By mid day every lift except Topridge and Straightbrook had long lines, even North Quad. Trails packed with testosterone-driven adolescent straight liners. Conditions started out very good but the heavy traffic skied it off by mid day.
