Winter Weather 23/24

A friend sent me this URL. Do any of you use this for weather predictions?

I used to follow Fox, but he swings and misses... a lot.

TK does weather for JPR and is a better option for NoVT, but that doesn't cover the MRV. SB is a good option on FB, though he only covers larger storms.

He also tends to wish cast a lot these days. He always has to some extent, but it's been an ever increasing trend as the years have gone on.
I don’t mind a little optimism every once in a while (to provide balance for certain people that constantly predict gully washers).

It’s just hard for me to have too much optimism *right now*. Snowmaking temps resume soon, which is good, but temps remain at that snow/rain line that has been fucking us in recent years

looks like we will have a week or so of seasonable cold ...should help...long range is all over the place...

In my defense I haven't used the term gully washer in a while..

The west has the more favorable winter temperatures but no storms. We have had the storms but not the temperature.

I keep hearing about a change. Hope they are finally right.

From Alan Smith at OpenSnow...
The weather pattern will remain uneventful for most of North America through the first few days of January with no major storms or snow events expected. The pattern will start to turn more active around or after January 4th with better opportunities for meaningful snow across both the West and the East.

I wish! 😂

December has been and continues to be a scorcher across all of the PNW. No shortage of storms in the region either, most of it just keeps falling in the form of rain. Snow-water equivalents are now at all time lows across the Northern Cascades and Southern Coast Range of BC.

I should have been more clear. The Rockies. I'd forgotten I heard the PNW is running warm as well. Here in Rochester December 2023 is running nearly 11 degrees above normal!
