Winter Weather 23/24

The flooding we've seen in north Jersey recently is getting to the point inconveniencing day to day life. I live in an area that not too many people realize is tidal effected despite being fairly far inland. 5 inches of rain and total moisture inundation of soil and high tide is resulting in significant flooding of both the Hackensack and Saddle Rivers. With the way these rivers bisect the county north south traveling east to west across them during the crest is getting harder and harder. Multiple roadways flood out leaving only a few viable areas to cross. Combine that with rush hour traffic timing up with the crest and a half hour drive doubles in time due to bottlenecking at these crossings. Unfortunately one of the most populated areas of the country is totally unprepared for the new climate reality.

every time it rains now, it's in multi inch events...unfortunately there is no end in sight right now... cold /rain/cold etc...great cycle

The PacNW is hurting. I had a chance to walk around the summit of Mt. Ashland during a September visit to my classmate from North Country School. Being a non-profit isn't easy.

A mere 264 hours away. Even if this is fantasy hopefully it shows a pattern change for snow.

January 6-12 could be interesting.

This is more interesting...coast huggers tend to end up going more to the west...regardless there looks to be a change coming...

PNW definitely low in snow. Red Mountain just opened on limited terrain.
The smaller mountains are getting clobbered this season. Mount Seymour, Sasquatch and Manning Park are all closed. Grouse and Cypress are barely open with one and two “runs” respectively. Even Mount Baker, one of the snowiest ski areas on the continent, is in rough shape.

Colder air is in the forecast thankfully, but the region looks dry over the long term.

I hope things turn around for you all in the Northeast. It would be nice if somewhere was getting some!

The storm potential that everybody's talking about looks like it's right around Monday the 8th. The eighth boy that would be great for me but it gets pushed back to the ninth im out of luck.
