And lots of back country available to somebody with a good AWD camper vanI'd consider Anchorage. Alyeska looks fun.
Yup. Just texted my aunt. She's near Phoenix now but the cuzs all went to skool at Aptos and TV showed it flooding. My coworkers in Santa Cruz County who lost their homes CZU fire in 2020 are currently being evacuated due to flooding. I know it's not the the PNW but it's not as if the coastal zones of the west coast are without their own significant issues. Personally I'll stick with our relatively tame weather patterns out east, even if that means more inconsistent snow.
I spent some time up there. It is fun, but I couldn’t deal with the lack of daylight.I'd consider Anchorage. Alyeska looks fun.
There was a tornado in Mechanicville when I was younger. The ice storm knocked out power for a bunch of communities for a week or two in ‘98. New York City is due for a crushing earthquake (https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022/12/05/predicting-the-earthquake-that-could-wreck-new-york). The Yellowstone Supercaldera could explode & destroy global food supplies (https://www.vox.com/2014/9/5/6108169/yellowstone-supervolcano-eruption).Yup. Just texted my aunt. She's near Phoenix now but the cuzs all went to skool at Aptos and TV showed it flooding.
Beautiful area but...
One of the cousins was visiting us here when the big World Series quake took a lot of stuff down. His wife was a firewoman there then.
It kinda makes an empty WROD not look too bad.
Careful, Ripitz is going to come by and tell you to speak for yourself, then correct your post to say You’re the one who needs to calm down & You’re the one who needs to back away from the ledge.Everybody calm the fuck down. Between this thread and Skiings Future I am a little bummed. NY skiers are supposed to be resilient right? It will snow eventually. Everything is gonna be ok. Back away from the ledge
No shit! I have a hard enough time around here! Gawd it makes me so tired when it's pitch black out at 4:30 in the afternoon.but I couldn’t deal with the lack of daylight.
I been there once. April 2019. Snowed 3'. It was closing day. It was fun! I tink it's in a TR on the old forum somewhere actuallyI'd consider Anchorage. Alyeska looks fun.
