You went up, then over, then down to meet up with the main entrance. I think when it originally went on the map, you just kept going up to 4650 feet. Currently you enter at 4436 feet. I think the entrance was moved down to make access easier for ski patrol, and because the very top of Slide 1 (above the current traverse) is most prone to avalanches.

Once it opens gold, it typically doesn't go back to silver unless there is new snow, so if it opens tomorrow then it should be gold. It never fully softened up in there today.
