You gotta love a little local ski area pride and rivalry!

My take on WF being a never have skied there person,

It's got big vert for groomers. The runs are mostly wide open boulevards built for competition and speed. It doesn't get a lot of snow and does get a lot of wind. the glades look ok....

In the 90's I was more into powder and featured natural terrain. WF looks really cool but comes up short in that department. Sure, there's the slides but how often are they open and really fun or ripping to ski? When there was snow in NY I always headed to Plattekill. 92/93 and 93/94 were deep years on the EC. I'm glad they were the ones I experienced before leaving.

and really fun or ripping to ski? .
Always really fun & ripping to ski when they are open. Rocks to jump off, tight sections (if you want that) or huge arcing turns or anything you want, really. The slides are fucking rad.

The east is packed with cool stuff to ski (Chin at Stowe, Tram Chutes at Jay, Snowfields at Sugarloaf, etc.), but we need good snow years for them to be really firing.

Every mountain has it's place. Just like when you buy cars you can decide on different engines. I always opted for the largest engine. Probably why I settled on whiteface. Raisonhead if you ever make a trip back to NY in February/March you come to whiteface and I will give you the big mountain tour. We will ski bell to bell and you will go back to AZ with a different appreciation. It's not in your face terror like the lines out west. 3k vert with 30-40 degree pitches in tight trees can still damage you. Your just are not as scared before it happens.

And northern VT gets into rippy shape a lot more often. You gotta have base to get really send-y.

Haha, I thought Brownski was joking. I didn’t realize the Men in Black was actually a thing. I think that’s cute that they wear the same outfits. Do they hang out at the Burger Palace with the Pink Ladies?
