West Mountain Conditions

Thanks - I ended up going on Saturday and had a good three hours. Snow is all pretty good with less ice than I am used to there.

West had a few inches on top of a very solid consolidated sleet layer. Runs were fast but very edgeable. Excellent GS turns. Mask compliance within the lodge was very hit or miss. Virtually none of the teenagers wore masks inside and many were disrespectful toward staff.

Got in 2 sunny hours of pure corduroy cruising and lunch (sandwich, soup, chips & drink) for $35 today. Feels like stealing in today's modern ski industry.

Fingers crossed that tomorrow doesn't destroy it, because the snow over there was pretty sweet today.

Popped up for the last couple of hours tonight and, as expected… ice, ice, baby!

Free foot massages, at least.

West Mountain was in good shape today. Better snow surfaces than Berkshire East yesterday. Crowds didn't arrive until after 11:00. Was still pretty empty on the Apex side when we headed back to the main base around 11:30.

Overall I was impressed. Glad West Mountain has joined Indy.

Planning on skiing West tomorrow for the first time on my way to Vermont. Glad to hear the conditions are good.

Churned up ice has softened nicely, I must say. Definitely impressed with their base depth. Main base closes for the season after Friday according to their website. Same for night skiing.
