WEST MOUNTAIN SCHOOL (WMS) RECEIVES KILLINGTON

WORLD CUP FOUNDATION (KWCF) GRANT

Queensbury, NY--- The Killington World Cup Foundation (KWCF) has recently awarded 31 grants totaling
$270,000 to Northeast area nonprofits in nine states for the upcoming ski season. The West Mountain
School (WMS) is happy to announce it is one of the recipients and the grant award is to help fund the
WMS Capital “Building For The Future” Campaign for the race building expansion at West Mountain
slated to begin this summer. The KWCF grants were created with the aim of promoting winter sports
and enriching communities. WMS cannot thank KWCF enough for the support of our community of
winter sports enthusiasts at West Mountain! WMS, through grants and other fundraising initiatives, can
provide winter sports enthusiasts involved in alpine ski racing at West Mountain the opportunity to
pursue their athletic ambitions at affordable rates. If you would like to contribute to the WMS Capital
“Building For The Future” Campaign, please contact WMS Vice President Sara Montgomery at West
Mountain.

KWCF DETAILS

• At KWCF, we are moved and motivated by the narratives that have been crafted and enriched
through our grants. A key factor in this has been our investment in the future of winter sports
athletes in the United States. To achieve this, KWCF has provided numerous grants to
stakeholders that address youth enrichment, which we understand to be paramount for
creating champions. Through our fundraising efforts, we have been able to foster meaningful
and tangible change for individuals, their families, and the communities that support them.
KWCF recognizes that this effort will be beneficial in a holistic manner. By increasing access and
opportunities for participation in winter sports, we can create a deeper pool of athletes
competing for the United States of America, ultimately leading to greater success.

• A committee consisting of Tiger Shaw, CEO of Wasatch Peaks Ranch Club; Grace Macomber Bird,

Would be very helpful if West would post conditions... Site lists trails then says "open December 23" then for conditions says "see on site"? So i go to the base camera.... It has not been working for over a week now. So do I really want to drive there in the rain 'hoping' for snow cover? Probably not.

I'm pretty sure they're not open yet. I was in GF 2 weeks ago and the trails looked quite bare.

From emails, I know they are open. Fortunately I do live close enough I could drive over , 30 minutes there another 30 minutes back. Or better yet, they could update their true conditions or their base camera. I WANT to support the little guys but sometimes they make it hard.

I think open is good enough. You live 30 minutes from there. You know what it is doing outside. What would you like them to say?Yes we are open it's a shit show I wouldn't come?

Looks like their base camera may be back online... that will help. Before you defend them you might want to visit their trail conditions page... the one that lists "see on-site" as their definition of conditions?

“see on-site” translates to "ya gotta go to know”. Appears to be true.

This in from the AP at 5:30 pm Friday (West is listed):

I forgive them....
The base camera is now working.
Now you can eye test the conditions for yourself.
You can see a carpet of packed snow on The Face trail...
The south Face (left side) with race poles in place?
I thought last year the camera panned to show Tube park & lift lines?
My memory is often faulty, so I could be imagining it...
But I appreciate the effort to get the camera back on line... thank you.
Not the vacation week they had hoped for, I am sure.
BTW Willard Mt lost the entire vacation week due to the weather...
When we finally get snow I plan to visit them to show some support.
