Here's my pic

2 years ago I walked 2 miles with a heavy chainsaw and cut those logs up.

Pita but worth it. I've rIdden through at least 100 times.

It's the same ride everyday and I never get tired of it. Love riding in the trees when it's hot. I agree with whoever coined "made in the shade."

A year from now may be the last time I ever ride this loop.

Or maybe when I come down to visit my mom, I throw my bike in the back and hit it up.

Curtis "lake" isn't exactly adk clear, and id be terrified to swim in it.

But it cleans up nice after a rain.

Great ride at the newish sterling Forrest loop.
I would put it up against any ride east of the Rockies.
Only down side were the gnats. Maybe a billion of them buzzing around my head.
Imo sterling in combination with ringwood are destination worthy.

Across the road at the Sterling visitor center things are f*cked up, I was out this afternoon hand clearing and inventorying downed trees for a chainsaw session tomorrow. The storm on May 23rd was at the least a significant micro-burst and at worse a legitimate tornado. Amazing because 2 miles away on the other side of the road the MTB trail network was largely untouched.

6/4/24. Rt 30 at the turn to go in towards Lowes. Think maybe they forgot to change the sign before turning it on. Or maybe there was deep snow on Coney or Goodman Mtn? If so, anyone want to hike it with me? It was a nice night for a ride anyway.
