Met this couple from Denver touring on the rail trail today. They just completed the Five Boro Bike Tour in NYC and are on their way to Albany to fly back home. Power to the pedal people!

Just love ride photos like this! It's one of the reasons why I love mountain biking so much. I love skiing but it's so much simpler than skiing with no long travel, lift tickets or crowds. I can be on the trails within a 5 min ride of my house.

The thing on the right drains the pond. It's a strainer goes into a big tube that comes out on the other side of the dam.

Here's the other side below the dam

this year it flooded in a bad way so they put that pipe in and started it with a motor but used it as a siphon. And just let it run while the rain was poring.

Very cool solution got the trail open again and took pressure off the dam without using really any energy.
