Way to get after it MikeThe sun popped out for a bit today, and this coupled with a few inches of fresh overnight made for some sweet skiing. It was cold, and Titus is really pumping out the snow. They're blowing on Maple Run, the Tubing hill, The Face and on chair 1. I think they want to get more of a base then last year so a thaw, like last March will let them stay open, at least I hope that. Lower Ridge Run is skiing well, they haven't set up the park there yet, so we are really enjoying this one. Vern's is also skiing great. Not too crowded, but there were a lot of beginners from local schools which is wonderful. Titus is a great place to learn. I guess we'll see what happens later this week, at least if it stays cold the rain won't melt so much. We'll be out tomorrow after it warms up a bit and I get the skis waxed.
Way to get after it Mike
Yep skiing Titus mid-week is like having your own private Idaho
Harv: Bruce! What is going on up there? How much do you think you will get? Enough to open any terrain?
Bruce: Depends how long it keeps snowing. Changed over earlier than expected last night so already have about 2” down. If some of these models are correct, and we can get snow for another 14-15 hours I would say there is a good chance. I’ll keep you posted throughout the day.
Hopefully you get The Upper tomorrowWe just got back from the Friday night open mic, we sang a few songs, and had a lot of fun. There was a good crowd at the lodge eating, drinking getting ready to go skiing.....The skiing was great today, it's hard to tell how much we got as the first 5 or 6 inches was sort of wet and heavy and consolidated on the ground when it fell. After that it got a bit colder and the new snow was lighter. There was mix of stuff, some graupel at one point. But we got a lot of snow., there was a lot of loose snow, chowder, skier packed powder. Everything skied amazing. I'm pretty sure they are going to open up more terrain tomorrow, and perhaps the Upper mountain on Monday. Mountain ops did a great job getting ready for this storm, and Mother Nature really came through for us.
