Titus Conditions

Titus has been skiing great since they opened on Monday. We've gotten some snow everyday, so it's been refreshed a bit. There have been a lot of folks here having fun, but it's ok. Our plan for today was to go to Saratoga for my Dad's birthday, but Gwen isn't feeling well(not COVID), so we are delaying the trip for a few days. I got out late and headed to the upper mountain where the conditions are stellar and it's still snowing. David's delight is great. and so was Outer edge.which had some open water here and there but which you could easily miss. I'm grabbing another layer, changing skis and heading back out. Just about everything is open. The woods trails are seeing a lot of traffic from the kids so they are getting scrapy. I don't think there is enough snow yet to venture there yet so I'm staying out. Titus is skiing great right now, we'll have to see what comes next.

Well, yesterday was one of those days. It was supposed to warm up, so I figured the snow was going to get sticky, yellow wax for the day. The whole mountain was open, we got out around 11, early for us, and headed to the Upper Mountain. It was just great, warm, sunny, glorious packed powder. The snow started to soften a bit, but not as much as I expected, the elevation and low sun helped. We skied a bunch up there, and then headed down for some runs on 6 and 1. Everything was great, I didn't try the woods as there is still not that much base. The runs on the lower its had softened a bit more, and some dirt was showing through. Lots of people, all having fun and enjoying a great day. No real lines and the trails weren't too crowded. We are heading to Saratoga today for my Dad's 97th birthday, we'll see what is left when we return after a few days. I want to give some praise to the lift operators and lifts at Titus, the lifeties do a great job, and the old chairlifts really get it done. They are low to the ground, out of the weather and are really fast when they crank them up. Let's hope for more snow in 2023.....

We spent the New Year in Saratoga with my Dad, and came home to not much snow. Titus is closed until Friday, let's hope they make it back open.....

Agreed. They’re not alone. It’s tough all over

Titus opened today, and the conditions were a really wonderful surprise. It was a cloudy day in the mid 30's, so the snow was soft. It hasn't frozen for some time. Lifts 4 and 6 are open, and each has several ways down. There are no bare spots, the trails are well covered and the snowpack is plenty deep. Some of the snow was a bit more granular than others, the best was great spring conditions with Ridge Run, all the way down as the park isn't up yet, and Vern's View have the best snow. They blew a lot of snow during that really cold week, and it's really paying off now. The snowmakers and groomers deserve a lot of credit. Tomorrow should be great.

Just got back from a few runs. Same trails and lifts as yesterday. It was 22 out this am, so as expected things firmed up a lot. We got about an inch of fresh snow, and they have guns on the Face and Maple Run. Skiing is frozen granular, but really edgeable sort of loud. Better than I thought it was going to be. The little bit of snow made it look more like winter. We're taking a break and heading back later.

They had lift 1 open before the torch. 100% open and skiing great They had blown quite a bit of snow on some of the trails, but not promise. I think there is enough snow over there to open, but they haven't opened it yet, I haven't been over there to see what is left. I thought they might open it today for the race program, but they didn't. Maybe next week. What is open is skiing pretty good, let me know if you are heading here.

Not skiing have to go to Syr for heart ablation soon they are putting me thru tests here and when results are analyzed I expect to be in Syr sometime in next week or so .

Will be out of commission for awhile . Was just interested as Titus was home turf for many decades.
