The Powder Chaser's Ratio

In the whole wide world?

Where is this?

Where is this?
On that note there was this photo that went around a while back of a woman taking a selfie and screaming (I think at Killington) of an insanely crowded slope behind her. I looked for a minute but couldn't find it.

All I’ve got out of this thread so far is that Smugglers Notch has close to half the acreage of Jackson Hole. I had no idea.
That just demonstrates how ridiculous east coast boundary to boundary stats are. That being said, Smuggs has way above average skiable trees within boundary compared to the average New England area. But a lot of those acres are tightly packed softwoods that are only skiable if/where there is a maintained line.

Is the general idea to use boundary to boundary? I thought it was supposed to be trail acres.

If so 428 seems way low for Gore.

I seem to remember Gore not counting glades and lift lines like double barrel in the mileage.

Is Woods Valley really only 25 acres? So far it has the highest skier density.

The comments say it’s at Whistler- even empty resorts have choke points I guess.

The document I referenced earlier also says,
"The ski area's holdings encompass slopes of two mountains, Gore Mountain and Pete Gay Mountain, with approximately 3,755 acres of land. See Figure 5, "Intensive Use Area Boundary," for the delineation of the area boundaries."

Emphasis added.

I’ve skied thru parking lots to the car before if that counts.

Different areas use different numbers. The trend seems to be going to boundary to boundary acres. Because once one resort does it, then other areas look way smaller on paper if they don't follow suit. Not all areas do it, though.
