Am I really supposed to care about all this hogwash? Just go skiing on a powder day. I don’t need a calculator the night before to decide where to go. Just get into the truck and fucking go.
First job is to have definitions correct for the variables. What do you think about calling in Peak Skier Density?
All lifts running, all terrain open.
Some surprises (or maybe inaccuracies) here:
The Gore uphill number is suspect. Reached out to Bone.
First job is to make sure we have the uphill right. Then we can noodle the acres.
Ski Area | Uphill Capacity | Skiable Acres | Skier Density* |
Gore | 8,400 / hr | 438 | 19 |

Appreciate looking into more details for coming up with appropriate results, as a long time pass holder I could have just let it slip since it showed Killington in a less favorable way to help keep people away on powder days but I thought the good people on this site deserve better.Gore and NYSkiBlog claim 428 acres for the entire ski area.
Does that include the Town of Johnsburg North Creek Ski Bowl? That's got to be 60-80 acres.
Does it include all the trees on Burnt Ridge? 4 tree runs of a mile. One time Mike Pratt told me that SHOWCASE was 25 acres of terrain. Those 4 tree runs could be another 60-80 acres, or more?
What about all the rest of the on the map trees? Are they in it? What about off the map?
It wouldn't surprise me if Gore was more like 600 acres.
To XT's point, what do you count?
Bigger picture, I do think the ratio means something, to me. All my favorites have low numbers.
News flash. You may have heard of this little pandemic we've been enduring. It has slowed the delivery of everything. Please back off Marz as I feel she is a major contributor of good information on this site. If not, may Noah John come back and throttle you...lolAppreciate looking into more details for coming up with appropriate results, as a long time pass holder I could have just let it slip since it showed Killington in a less favorable way to help keep people away on powder days but I thought the good people on this site deserve better.
I am not here just for my own good, that’s why I also call out “spammers “ like Marz who talked (typed) ma girlfriend into ordering ski pants since they said they would be ready for the beginning of this season which I would like to ask where Marz got that info? since Marz was the one saving a lot of money if they got enough suckers to pay the higher price Marz would get the same pants much cheaper, I wouldn’t use people
like that, and I think you should know type of person you take info from, ski hard and help fellow skiers, View attachment 10657View attachment 10658View attachment 10659
Resort operator Powdr is launching dedicated fast-access lanes at four of its mountain resorts this season: Copper Mountain in Colorado, Killington in Vermont, Mt. Bachelor in Oregon and Snowbird in Utah. To access the lanes, which will be located at the most popular lifts at each mountain resort, guests will need to purchase a daily Fast Tracks pass. They will start at $49 a day, but have dynamic pricing based on the mountain, peak periods, holidays and day of the week, and go on sale Nov. 1.

Then don’t answer the questions posed above and reiterated. If you break it down, all the forum rules are really different versions of RULE #1: Don't make work for the mods.
