The Indy Pass

When I first saw that release last week, I reached out to Doug.

Woah were is everybody? He said it's just those who renewed to date.

He didn't seem too concern, but I'll ask him for an official statement.

Oh wow, I completely missed this! Looks like they are adding a physical RFID pass as well which is huge. Saddleback was an absolute cluster Saturday morning with people waiting an hour to redeem.
Note that as with the new MCP physical card for 2023-24, although the card will be RFID at resorts that have implemented RFID lift access there will still be places where the bar code is what will be scanned. Assuming the ski area is using hand scanners based on bar codes on plastic cards or "paper tickets."

Here's a report from a few weeks ago about the sale of the Indy Pass to the company that's been providing technical support.

Just bought the Indy Pass that has blackout dates. There is a $10 charge for the physical card. Also the option of donating $5 to Share Winter, a non-profit that provides grant money for programs for kids to get fit while having fun on snow.

Since I'm not skiing Massanutten (home hill 4 hour drive from my house) as often these days, I won't have any trouble getting value out of Indy just skiing in NC, VA, WV in January before I head west. For any extra days at Massanutten, senior rates are pretty decent.

We expect ALL NY resorts will renew.
A full roster will be released later in the spring and we are working through the list now of 139 resorts.

New Refund Policy
Any passholder who purchases during our early-bird pricing period will be eligible for the Indy Pass Partner Participation Promise. Pass holders are entitled to a full refund if the resorts they plan to visit are not participating in the program. Refund requests must be submitted by September 1, 2023.

Returning Resorts
Unlike the conglomerates, all Indy resorts are independently operated, and each one commits to a one-year contract. It requires weeks of polling to gain new annual commitments from all resorts, and a complete roster will be published as soon as feasible. We fully expect resort participation to continue growing.

That's a pretty solid refund policy.

Stuart is tracking Indy very closely. His table for locations lists who has already signed and who intends to stay with Indy. The Top Ten from the last couple seasons (2020-21, 2021-22) plan to be back.

I've been very happy with my first Indy Pass this season (used my 11th redemption today), and already renewed for next season.

If you are going to renew click on one of the Indy Pass links in this thread and around the site.

No commission paid or anything but lets Doug know we are here. Helps justify all he gives us.

All but Two Indy Pass Resorts Confirmed for the 23/24 Season

102 Alpine partner resorts will be contracted, two are pending, and one will not return

Grand County, CO. (March 28, 2023) – The Indy Pass released today an updated list of resorts that have committed for the 23/24 season. As of this date, 102 out of 105 Indy Alpine resorts participating in 22/23 will return for next season. Snow Valley, Mt. Hood Meadows, and Mt. Ashland are the three uncommitted resorts. Alterra acquired Snow Valley, Mt. Hood Meadows, and Mt. Ashland are expected to renew.

Allied and Cross Country resort lists will be published after the Indy season ends on April 30. Indy Pass Founder Doug Fish said, “97 percent of Indy Partner Resorts returning sends a clear message that the Indy Revolution is alive and well. In fact, more than a dozen new resorts are already in the cue to join the coalition.”

Continued Growth Expected - Indy Passholders can expect significant growth in partner options for the 23/24 season in both the domestic and international markets. Fish continued, “Our efforts will now shift from confirming renewals to expansion opportunities in markets where the Indy Pass has room for more partners.”

Waitlist Pass Sales Will End March 30th - 23/24 passes are only on sale for people who signed up for the waitlist before March 23rd. The Adult Base Pass is $299, and the Adult Indy+ Pass is $399 for zero blackout days (see complete waitlist pass pricing below).
