The Importance (and Fun!) of a Quiver

I was busting Harv's chops offline about his comment that a pair of 96s are his daily drivers, including nasty hardpack. I know that there are pro-level skiers like MattChuck or MadPat who could literally make proficient turns on 2x4s, but for a hacker like me, it's all about the right tool for the conditions -- something in the 80s when there's no fresh snow, 98s and wider for proper powder. And that goes for out west as well as back east.
The full-on cave to peer group pressure continues.

Spoke to Vin last night. We are narrowing it down:

172 cm
130/84/112
50mm titanol strip

Using the Head Rev 5 as a starting point (thanks @Cork ):

He showed my how his ski will compare for shape:

Now I'll be able to ski crappy conditions with @jamesdeluxe and you other hosers!

Ask him if he’s figured how to replicate a mid 80s K2 812 yet

This is his first ski ever with metal in it, so maybe a bit of a risk? I said to him last night I'd be surprised if he builds another.

I'm sure he'd make you whatever you want.

This wasn't really any kind of bromance with a specific ski. @Cork loaned me the ski for that awesome day at Killington last May:

and it was a lot of fun. Plus @SudsNBumps told me he thought I was rockin it, considering it was my first time on new skis. Really those dimensions are just a starting point.

Interesting to me that to real difference between this new ski and my daily drivers, is 10mm in the waist, and the amount of rocker. Tips and tails are basically equal.

You had just never been on a carving ski, and you saw the light! ;)⛷️

I feel like it was more about he radius, and maybe the (more rigid) NTN binding.

In those bumps I never really carved. More like jump and schmere. ?
