Nice! A friend left a pair at my place still in the wrapper. He later came and got em before we had snow. Do those things work? I looked in to picking up a pair but they’re all gone.Altai Hoks another go. Conditions were ideal for Hokking around, the cold snow gave the things some glide and fun turns were had.

How fast can/do ya go safely on those things in different conditions?
How much learning curve for em?

As a skier they are great for swacking around my 50 acre backyard with my dog [ small westie] he can keep up, I'd much prefer to be on skis. They do work. The experience you have depends on your background. If you are an experienced nordic skier, you will likely hate them because they don't have much glide. If you are a snowshoer looking for something different, you'll likely have a blast. If you are an alpine skier looking for a gateway ski to backcountry touring, they might be just the ticket. Also, if you are a snowshoer, get the short ones, if you are a skier, get the long ones.
That pretty much sums it up. I was able to borrow a rental pair from work, enjoyed the experience but am not convinced that I would buy a pair.As a skier they are great for swacking around my 50 acre backyard with my dog [ small westie] he can keep up, I'd much prefer to be on skis.
