This ^ too!I see mega passes as the driver here. I won't buy one. If you really believe in voting with your wallet, you won't buy a mega pass either.

Agreed. It's hard to be a fan of a particular resort when it's a game of cat and mouse to avoid extra fees every visit. It's annoying trying to avoid pesky add-on fees when flying or visiting amusement parks, and I don't want that spreading to the ski industry more than it already has.I'm not defending it, i hate it. I hate it more than you. It ruins the experience.
I have a Killington Beast 365 Pass, Ikon Base Pass, and ORDA Ski3 Pass. My Killington pass is by far my most expensive but also my most used. It included the Ikon Base Pass. I'm not sure if that qualifies as "buying" a mega pass or not. At most Ikon partner resorts, if you buy their top tier pass, you get an Ikon Base Pass for free. My ORDA Pass cost just over half as much, and is my secondary for eastern skiing. I did without it last year, but actually missed the ORDA mountains, at least on their good days. And having Gore just an hour away is very convenient.I see mega passes as the driver here. I won't buy one. If you really believe in voting with your wallet, you won't buy a mega pass either.
FWIW I still don't like the skip the line pass at Killington. At the time I was extra pissed because it came down after the pass deadline at the beginning of a huge inflationary crisis. I am grateful that Killington has shorter lift lines than most eastern destination resorts, and you can avoid waiting at all most days if you know the mountain. They also don't charge non-optionally for add-ons, and I hope it stays that way.FWIW I still don't like paid parking at Gore. At the time i was extra pissed because it came down after the pass deadline at the beginning of a huge recession. I am grateful that they have left it half of lot A, so an early bird can still get a decent spot.
I used to be able to go all day without eating. I just can't do it anymore. I can't get my skis around if I am too hungry.Weed and a candy bar gets me through most days.
plus a bottle of water. gets me to about 1:00 - 2:00.I get there early for optimal parking. I’m usually practically slopeside.

i buy beer at plattekill to help support the place.I used to be able to go all day without eating. I just can't do it anymore. I can't get my skis around if I am too hungry.
Now I skip breakfast, and buy a cheeseburger at 10:30.
The only place I buy a beer is Plattekill and McCauley. They aren't cheap there either.
I can't even get the bartenders attention at Gore.
Boot up at the car with weed and vuala, suddenly that walk to this lift ain't so bad.I get there early for optimal parking. I’m usually practically slopeside.

I've been known to do the same.i buy beer at plattekill to help support the place.
Speaking of Lot H, what Stowe did would be the equivalent of Gore making lots A thru G paid parking and leaving only Lot H and the ski bowl free. At Stowe, while there is technically some free parking at Toll House or the Cross Country Center, the lots are small, far away, and have limited shuttle or lift service. The vast majority of their guests are going to have to pay the 30 dollars. Also @Ripitz Lot H, real heads know.
