Purchasing Land

"Gentleman Famers" I often pass them on my long windy gravel rides through the Bedminster area. Paying someone to harvest the hay off your field must be a nice way to keep the taxes down on your 20,000sqft "farmhouse"

Always grifting:
Is it tax evasion if it's legal? Maybe it's called being cheap or creative, but I don't think evasion.

I prefer the word "grift," because it doesn't make a moral or legal judgement on the perpetrator. The family with said country club in Bedminster has plenty of money to pay the taxes, they simply decide not to.

Give it a rest.

Dreaming of buying some sweet land either in the Catskills or ADKs. After I pay off my wedding.. It's all about us finding land. and other things.

Come to the SoAdk D!

There are some trees on our land that are really big and old, but most of the old ones are only ~40 years old(?).

My dream is that our land would never be developed and that long after I am gone there will be some 200 year old trees on that land. I hope my daughter holds on to the property, and passes it down, but if not, somehow I'd like those trees and owls to live on.

My personal religion is non-traditional. God is in the big old trees.
You should read The Overstory by Richard Powers. It’s a novel about big old trees, outliving the generations of people who come and go around them. I actually listened to it as an audiobook during a trip to Gore.
