Poma Lifts

When I was a liftie there was one right next to the bottom station of the lift I worked on. They were both perceived as the “second step” lifts because you could get onto the easier blue trails from them. A lot of first time skiers seemed to show up early in afternoon after getting a lesson and spending the morning on the bunny hill. Getting those people onto an old Riblet running at full speed was hard enough. The Poma was pure carnage. Some times it seemed like more people got flung by the loading process then actually made it up that lift.

That’s a Poma horse!

Because you get all beat up riding them? Pummel lift!

Those people must not use de googlez

Oh my god- here are two pommel lift references. I’m not crazy

I've been on many Pomas in the Alps, especially Switzerland; however, the most notable one that people here may recognize is the Summit Platter at Lake Louise. It has a nice stiff pitch on the upper section:

That is some pretty credible content there, I must admit. Especially that comment from Charlene. ?

That first article is categorized under wakeboarding and waterskiing.
